Linda's Skagway day

Some snaps from the morning train ride.

Grizzly Falls zip lining
I've been dreaming of this for months. Not only was the Ziplining an absolute buzz, the surroundings were breath taking. Although I had been assured there were no steps or slopes other than the steps into the all terrain vehicle, this was not exactly true.  Post-surgery knees were not impressed.
A short walk up a windy gravel path was my first challenge.  Then I realised that for each of the eleven zip lines I would need to get up and down a three step stool/ladder, pretty much hands free.  This was a bit more of a challenge as since surgery and subsequent problems, I have been relying pretty heavily (yes, ha ha) on handrails to take some of the weight and provide support. The old knees and quads certainly got a work out, but I couldn't forego the experience.  Although I was always "thethered" safely, the degree of difficulty was increased by being on a somewhat flexible structure which moved with the various jumps and landings, and knowing that I was a wee way off the ground.
I resisted all entreaties to try somersaults, backflips and tricks and survived pretty much in one piece and totally exhilarated.

Rehydrated with a couple of Spruce Tip Blonde Ales "holding scurvy at bay for centuries" at Skagway Brewing.
Reviews assured me the hand picked Sitka Spruce tree tips add a crisp kick to its creamy, slightly sticky body and floral zest to the fruit and spice flavor.  Amen.
