We decided to forego the delights of breakfast at the hotel and have a sleep in instead. We had already told Nexus we would make our own way to the dock, as our bus left the hotel at 9.30am and we weren't due to board until 2pm. Sam then cleverly suggested that we hitch a ride with another Nexus bus load departing at 11.30am - same tour, just a different group.
We went out at 11.25 and the bus was all packed and just pulling away, but stopped for the crazy lady (me). We then proceeded to hold up the bus load of punctual passengers while we borrowed and then jammed the hotel stapler, affixed cruise labels and loaded the luggage.
Sam bravely offered to let me board the bus first to face the wrath, so I did, apologised, and explained it was all Sam's fault. 😇
Check in at the cruise terminal was crowded, but the snaking lines moved quickly. At one stage Sam's phone pinged and she said Oh I have messages! A gentlemen also in line asked "Is one of them your wake-up call?" Strongly suspect he was a punctual Nexus passenger.
After showing our passports/Sea passes seemingly randomly/alternately to approximately 57 Royal Carribean staff, we were aboard and free to roam. We finally had something to eat about 1.30pm, having noted earlier we were starving, but still not enough to consider eating the biscuits and gravy at Ramada.
Tested out the Sea Passes to ensure our drinks packages were included - yowzha! When we realised the quick security picture taken as we linked our Sea Pass card and ID would show whenever we ordered drinks, we were sorry we didn't provide a more recognisable pose. Y'know, thirsty or really really happy or slightly off keel etc. I'm almost certain the crew would have found this both witty and charming.
Settled into the cabin at some point, delightful interlude at the Champagne Bar before a fabulous late dinner at Chops Grille. Best fillet Mignon I've ever had. Okay, so I've probably had no more than 10 in my whole life, but really, superb. Apparently cooking in beef fat, duck fat and some other type of non-healthy thing makes it thus.
